Bring checked allergen information onto your food labels.
Build labels from the ingredient information recorded for your items. Keep it current when recipes or suppliers change, and check the result before food leaves your kitchen.

Print screen showing an item selected for labelling and its label preview.
Start with the ingredients.
- 01Check the source.
Use the current supplier specification and the recipe your team actually follows.
- 02Record the information.
Add the ingredient and allergen details to the correct item in InstaLabel.
- 03Review the label.
Check the information and the allergen emphasis in the preview and on a test print.
- 04Keep it current.
Update affected items when a supplier, ingredient or recipe changes.

From menu records to a printable allergen matrix.
Your allergen records should do more than feed one label at a time. Choose the dishes on your current menu, review the 14 allergen categories and generate a matrix your team can keep available and update when the menu changes.
Use the item and ingredient records already maintained in InstaLabel.
See recorded allergens across all included dishes.
Show the review date, reviewer and generated date without pretending the document updates itself after printing.

Review the matrix against current recipes and supplier information. A blank cell does not mean allergen-free.
Example matrix generated from demonstration records. Always check your own recipes and supplier information before use.
A matrix is not a PPDS ingredient label.
An allergen matrix can help communicate allergens for non-prepacked dishes. PPDS food has separate ingredient-list and allergen-emphasis requirements. Choose the output that matches how the food is packed and sold.
A consistent place to work from.
Start with the details already recorded for the item.
Make the relevant recorded allergens visible in the label layout.
Review the item and label before printing another batch.
Accurate inputs still matter.
A menu description cannot reveal every ingredient in a sauce, dressing or bought-in component. Check compound ingredients and substitutions against their source information. Labelling also sits alongside your kitchen's handling, cleaning and staff-training procedures.
Official allergen checklistMatch the label to how the food is sold.
Internal container labels and customer-facing PPDS labels do different jobs. Use the PPDS guide when food is packed before customers select it, and check the official rules for other sales methods.
